What to eat and when to eat


A bodybuilder´s diet must follow the basic principle of a correct nutritional regime 60-40-10. That is, 60% carbohydrates, 40% proteins and 10% fats. From this general balance, we must deviate in small proportions according to the aim of our training.

Increase Volume

To gain muscular mass we must increase our training and the amount of proteins that we intake, including them in all our meals. For this purpose, Ovogym suggests a series of varied meals so that you can enjoy your diet: Egg white omelettes, New Whey protein shakes, Ovowhey protein shakes (egg white +whey) and our oatmeal pancakes which contain 50% protein.

Define Muscles
It consists of reducing fat so that the muscles are more exposed and thus better defined. We must achieve this by eating the same amount of carbohydrates, the same amount of proteins but reducing our fat intake to the minimum and preventing water retention in the body. To define muscles Ovogym suggests our oatmeal pancake, always to be consumed before 7 in the evnning and proteins throughout the day: 5 egg whites omelets, New Whey protein shakes and Ovogym protein shakes (egg white + whey).

Once we know how to increase volume and to define muscles, we must know the bio readiness of proteins and carbohydrates. The bio readiness is the assimilation (body retention) of the nutrients by our organism. The same grams of egg white protein have a higher degree of assimilation than the same grams of whey, but slower. That is why you must always consume the proteins that you require.

Before training
Energy is provided by the carbohydrates in the Ovogym oatmeal pancakes plus the rice or pasta that have taken during the morning.

It is advisable to take an Ovowhey protein shake just before you start your training, which will provide you with the quick assimilation proteins required to sustain muscle wear at the beginning of the exercise routine and the slow assimilation proteins required during and after training.


After training

New Whey shakes are an appealing solution to repair the muscular wear and tear just after training.

And we must not forget that the carbohydrates and proteins assimilation partly depend on vitamins. The products enriched with Ovogym egg white plus or fruit help in their assimilation.
